DIE DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN

The objective of our group is to innovate production and technological procedures, utilise the capacity of new technology, thus achieving better product quality, more efficient production and, last but not least, reduce environmental waste produced by our operations. This is one of the reasons for initiating and participating in a number of significant projects to achieve these objectives. In our research and development activities, we have established cooperation with the universities of technology in České Budějovice, Plzeň and Liberec.

ZINC WASTE RECYCLING TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH

In our efforts to continuously improve the quality of our castings, we purchased a new pre-melting furnace from MELTEC in 2018. In cooperation with the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, we also decided to co-fund the research project under the EPSILON programme, which focuses on research and development of technology for zinc waste recycling in the production of high-quality zinc alloy castings. The TH04020055 project is performed with the financial support of TA ČR (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic).

USE OF ADDITIVE PRINT IN TOOL-MAKING

In 2021, in cooperation with the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice, University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, Technical University of Liberec and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, we decided to co-fund the research project under the TREND programme, the purpose of which is the research & development of the hardening capacity of dies made of H11 steel and BÖHLER M789 for casting zinc alloys with the combined use of cutting-edge additive production technology, heat treatment, surface treatment and numerical simulations. The purpose of the project is the use of more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly variants of cobalt-free steel. The FW03010323 project is performed with the financial support of TA ČR (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic).

EXTENSION OF LIFETIME AND NON-CONVENTIONAL COOLING OF TOOLS

The purpose of the AMOCAST project is to use the additive production method to make the shaping parts of dies and to extend their lifetime, and to utilise the potential to apply non-conventional more sophisticated cooling canals to the tool cooling process, which thus far cannot be produced by application of conventional methods. The new knowledge will enable a unique die concept to be developed and verified in operation. Our main partner in this project is One3D s.r.o.

This "Application of Additive Technology for Production of Dies for Zinc Alloy Die Casting" project is performed under the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
